An all time favourite of mine, Road House is one of those films that strikes the right balance between "guilty pleasure" and outright classic. It's an action film and a drama  with some very funny parts too, and a standout lead performance from Patrick Swayze at the height if his star power.

Swayze plays Dalton, a cooler (head bouncer) who is persuaded by a small town club owner to take on the role at his now run-down club in hopes of bringing back the good times. Once there, he discovers that the town is under the boot of a corrupt local businessman (Ben Gazzara) who "taxes" the locals under the guise of improving the town.

When Dalton becomes romantically linked with the local doctor who also happens to be the businessman's ex girlfriend, things become even more complicated, and even Dalton finds he needs help, in the form of a brilliant supporting role for the great Sam Elliot.

Road House is an absolute blast from beginning to end, and is well deserving of more than one viewing.
